“It is such a humble paradise of healing and joy that our family has committed itself to support in any way we are able.”

“How could it be that I identify so much with the girls I encountered in Chalco with the Sisters of Mary? We are united not only in our challenges, but also united in prayer for each other and those around us. I feel a strong sense of belonging and love when in adoration with the girls. Their reverence and beautiful singing voices elevated our time in worship during our visit. To be in Chalco is to witness a strong presence of the Holy Spirit and reflect the love that pours out from Our Lord and all those present in that very special place. It is such a humble paradise of healing and joy that our family has committed itself to support in any way we are able.”

“I witnessed for myself that there is indeed ‘fullness of joy in God’s presence.’”

The welcome we received at Chalco Girlstown in Mexico was very memorable – we were greeted by hundreds of smiling faces. Between joining the girls for meals and taking walks with them in the afternoons, I felt a whirlwind of love. A memorable moment was the sad, scared, teary face of a new first-year student which became a gentle, smiling face after a time of Adoration and the blessing of her bedroom. She went from “I don’t want to be here” to “now I know I’ll sleep tonight.” I witnessed for myself that there is indeed “fullness of joy in God’s presence.” Giving to the Sisters of Mary Children is an honor. To be a small part of partnering with Sisters in their joyful work brings us such joy!

“So many times, somebody comes up to you with an idea, ‘Let’s get together some money to do this and maybe this will work, this will do a good thing. Let’s pool our resources and try this.’ Well, you can pool your resources, but you don’t have to try it — you don’t have to experiment. With the Sisters of Mary it works. You can trust that their programs work. The results are the proof.”

“The Sisters of Mary are incredible. They are from all around the world and many of them are graduates of the Sisters of Mary programs themselves!”

“The Sisters of Mary are incredible. They are from all around the world and many of them are graduates of the Sisters of Mary programs themselves! They fill the role of the mother for the children while the children attend the school. Each sister is assigned to oversee one floor of a building and those are “her children.” They also teach catechism. The only thing they do not do is sleep there.

When we visited, we tried making the most of the short time to connect with the girls: ‘What’s your story? Share your struggles & joy with me… I will pray for you!!’ They embrace us as friends, and we embrace them as daughters! Everything in Girlstown is bigger than big! May the Lord grant our prayer that our lives can continue the joyful service to God in the poor begun by Fr. Al and through his intercession enable us to echo this prayer for souls. We pray that you will stay with us on this journey so we may be forever changed through our support of the work of the Sisters.”

“The message of Jesus Christ is clear, ‘love God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength and love your neighbor as yourself.’ The Sisters of Mary do just that!”

“Our parents always made us aware of the needs of others as we were growing up. When it came time to raise our own children, we felt it increasingly important to show our children that life is not just about what “I” can get or do or have, but it is living with an awareness of others less fortunate than oneself. The message of Jesus Christ is clear, “love God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength and love your neighbor as yourself.” The Sisters of Mary do just that!”
